Abstract

With the continuous expansion of the medical postgraduate education scale in China, the dual predicament of ambiguous mentor's responsibilities and the insufficient protection of student rights have constructed the deep structure of the potential contradiction between supervisors and postgraduates (hereinafter referred to as "mentor-student contradiction") in contemporary medical postgraduate education. The covert nature of conflict development and the lack of proactive engagement have further intensified this conflicts under the dual pressures of clinical practice and academic research. Focusing on the “mentor-student contradiction” in medical postgraduate education, this study conducts an empirical investigation into two-dimensional analysis and collaborative governance based on the structure-process model. Furthermore, the study proposes strategies for collaborative governance of “mentor-student contradiction”, including optimizing institutional frameworks, improving resource allocation, innovating communication mechanisms, and reconstructing the evaluation system, in order to provide theoretical basis and practical reference for higher medical institutions in China to enhance the quality of medical postgraduate education and training.
