Clinical teaching plays a key role in the competency development of clinicians. Medical students are prone to insufficient mastery of teaching content and poor subjective initiative under a single conventional teaching model. With the advancement of evidence-based medicine (EBM), the EBM teaching model has been widely used in clinical teaching. Based on the concept and characteristics of the EBM teaching model, this review discusses its strategies and applications in clinical teaching, and proposes the optimization approaches, aiming to improve the quality of clinical teaching.
