Objective Taking "Clinical Biochemical Laboratory Techniques" course as a case, to explore the integration methods and practical effects of ideological and political education aimed at cultivating high-quality, comprehensive medical talents.
Methods 98 students from the class of 2020 in the medical laboratory technology major in school of medicine of Shanxi Datong University were assigned to the control group, taught by traditional methods, while 99 students from the class of 2021 were assigned to the experimental group, taught by ideological and political teaching methods. The effect of intergrating curriculum ideology and politics into teaching was compared and analyzed between the two groups.
Results The average score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group (79.26±11.21 vs. 74.16±10.62, P=0.001). The passing rate of the experimental group was 96.97%, which was higher than that of the control group (89.80%). 93.9% of the students in the experimental group were satisfied with the ideological and political content of the course. All scores of the individual comprehensive quality assessment in the experimental group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05).
Conclusion Integrating ideological and political education into "Clinical Biochemical Laboratory Techniques" course has significantly improved teaching effectiveness and provided a reference for the construction of medical curriculum ideology and politics.
