Objective To explore the application value of clinical pathway combined with case-based teaching in practice of department of encephalopathy.
Methods A total of 92 interns from the department of encephalopathy at The Second Clinical Medical School of Henan University of Chinese Medicine were selected and divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 46 students in each group. The control group used conventional teaching methods, while the experimental group used clinical pathway combined with case-based teaching on the basis of conventional teaching to compare the quality of clinical teaching between the two groups.
Results Compared with the control group, the experimental group showed significantly higher scores in theory, practical operation, comprehensive ability, and intern satisfaction (P<0.05), Compared with the teaching quality of the teachers in the two groups, the experimental group had a sig-nificantly higher teaching excellence rate than the control group (97.83% vs. 80.43%, P=0.007).
Conclusion The combination of clinical pathway and case-based teaching can effectively enhance the theoretical, practical, and comprehensive operational abilities of clinical interns in practice of department of encephalopathy, and improve their satis-faction.
